“Building Community By Building Trust”

Our Guiding Principles

1. To actively combat racism, including antisemitism, by building relationships between African-Americans and American Jews.
2. To ‘educate’ and ‘activate’ our communities around three areas of learning:
   • Role of Sports in Combating Racism and Antisemitism
   • Historical Relationship Between Blacks and Jews
   • Conversations/Rekindle (Black/Jewish Relationships)

3. Based on the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, people shall be “judged based upon the content of their character and not by the color of their skin”, nor by their ethnicity, religion, personal lifestyle or political views.
4. To assertively combat racism in all forms (as defined in #3 above) including attitudes and policies stemming from systemic and institutional racism.
5. To actively combat antisemitism which emanates from individuals or one of the following 3 primary sources: the far right, the far left, and radical Islam.
6. To refute the inappropriate targeting of the Jewish State of Israel per the definition of the  International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).
7. To grow The Alliance community and encourage its members to utilize our ‘Pillars of Trust’ as they engage with others.
8. Use ‘Conversations’ to encourage people of different backgrounds to seriously and respectfully engage on an ongoing basis to build relationships, trust, friendships, and community.
9. Promote the concept of antiracism, which is to be an activist/doer in combating racism and antisemitism.
10. To live by the principles of the American dream, that all Americans are entitled to ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ and ‘equality of opportunity’, and to be ‘antiracist’ as defined above.
