Sports is a great “equalizer” between people of different backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures.  Coach Bruce Pearl, a member of the Alliance Board of Advisors, says that when he is building a team, what matters is “can they play, not the color of their skin”.

An antiracist is someone who judges people based on characteristics that are relevant and important.  In general, per the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, such judgement should be based upon the content of their character, not the color of their skin; In the world of sports, per Coach Pearl, can they play?
